In Kirby there is a recurring villian known as Dark Matter. This being was first introduced in Kirby's Dream Land 2 and is born from negative energy and emotion. Since then, many other evil beings have been fought and have some sort of relation to Dark Matter. Dark Matter has the power to possess other beings and give them strength beyond what they had before while controlling the host. The goal of Dark Matter as a whole is to destroy the entire universe.
